중종 재위기 조선 사대부 남성의 철릭과 답호를 응용한 인형의상 디자인 연구 = A Study on Doll Costume Design that Applied Noblemen`s Chulrik & Dapho during Jungjong`s Reign in the Joseon Dynasty

Jungjong`s reign(A.D.1506-1544) in the Joseon Dynasty had a suitable political and cultural background for media contents, but it is quite rare to find doll costume products as cultural souvenirs through historical investigation about that period. This study is undertaken to supplement contents of male doll costumes that apply the features of noblemen`s costumes during Jungjong`s reign. The subject of study was the set of Chulrik and Dabho which was nobleman`s semi formal wear. This set was worn on inside the Danryeong also, and had the costume characteristics prior to Japanese invasion of Korea(A.D.1592-1598). Boiled myungju, toju, lotus patterned jacquard silk and golden brocade were selected as main materials according to old literature and relics from noblemen`s tombs. Green, the popular color during Jungjong`s reign obtained through indigo dyeing, and deep red, the preferred color of nobelmen`s clothing, were the keynote colors. The characteristics of the Chulrik for doll investigated had a loose and abundant silhouette, crossed double outside collar with scooped narrow square corner and double inside collar with square corner, the ratio of 1:1 upper and lower part, and cold indigo leaf dyeing. The features of the Dapho for doll were half sleeves, a big square gusset added on the side seam, a double outside collar with a scooped narrow square corner, a double inside collar with a square corner, deep red color, and a string to tie it up in Danryeong. Some details including the waistline were modified to the ratio of the doll`s body within the limit of historical investigation. The main product of this study was designed as an educational doll costume souvenir based on investigation, and the application to popular products to be tried in the future.
