Rousseau accomplished many works in the fields of ideas and studies. And he left the best contribution to each field.
Where is the source of such wonderful results and what is the key of them ? First of all, there are needs to reveal these questions. This 〈Some Aspects of J.-J. Rousseau〉 attempts the very points.
The theme which Rousseau explained through all of his life was the original goodness (bonte´ originelle) of human beings. And so, this is the essential sense of his thoughts. The =principles of education by his educational theory can be derided into five or six parts.-the principle of liberalism, the principle of passivism, the principle of spontaneous activity, and so on. It is also the original goodness of human beings which lies at the bottom of these principles.
Goodness, it's such a simple word. But the concepts which Rousseau tried to represent are quite various.
First, the original goodeness; it means the spontaneous state of balances of human action. And these balances are made up by the wisdom of Creater.
Second, the realistic goodness of human being; it is incomplete and fragmentary, but very realistic. Our various feelings, reason, and passion are good when we see life as itself.
Third, the goodness suitable to the new way of living; it is the very problem of morality and conscience of human beings.
I have considered Rousseau's original goodness of human beings by lightening spotlights in three aspects I mentioned above. And I concluded it as the starting point for the stuidy of Rousseau.
