In this research, the standardized Marshall mix design method was specified in detail and the improved specification of mix design was proposed. Wheel tracking tests were conducted to investigate the problems of the dense graded mixtures and anti rutting grading was proposed with maximum size of 19 ㎜, 13 ㎜, and 25 ㎜. The effect of aggregate shape was observed. It has been found that mixtures with smaller amount of flat-elongated particles exhibited high dynamic stability than do those with bigger amount of flat-elongated particles. To improve the quality of asphalt mixtures, the standardization of quality control procedure was tried.
