전통춤 연행의 동시대성 연구 - 상호문화적 사례를 중심으로 = A Study of the Contemporaneity of Traditional Dance Performance - Focusing on Intercultural Cases

국문 초록 (Abstract)

세계화가 본격화된 20세기 중반 이후 지역에 전승된 전통춤 다수는 세계화된 문화와 지역문화의 상호문화적 변용의 결과이다. 지구의 시공간이 압축된 2000년대 이후 전통춤의 변용은 국가나 민족문화 등의 지리적 경계에서만이 아니라 지역 내부의 세대, 성, 계급, 취향 등 문화적 경계로 혼종화의 접점을 확대했다. 이 연구는 세계 전통춤 변용의 다양한 사례와 이들 사이의 유사성 또는 차이 등 춤의 상호문화적 맥락과 사례에서 2020년대 전통춤의 동시대 연행의 일단에 접근했다. 국내 사례로 신전통춤의 출현과 이를 수용하는 태도의 변화, 무형문화재 전통무용의 지정범위에 대한 최근의 조사 결과를 살펴보고, 이를 시대와 사회적 맥락에 따른 전통춤의 개념과 범위의 변화라는 점에서 전통춤의 상호문화적 변용 사례로 관찰했다. 해외 사례로 문화세계화의 지형에서 지역 전통춤이 공통으로 처한 연행맥락을 보여주는 두 사례를 살펴본다. 에티오피아의 전통춤에서 비서구 춤이 이국적 과거의 춤으로 유형화하는 문제를, 우간다의 전통춤을 전유하는 젊은 무용가의 사례에서 동시대 전통춤의 상호문화적 변용과 특성의 이해를 확장한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Many of the regional traditional dances after the mid-20th century, are the results of intercultural transformations between globalized culture and local culture. Since the 2000s, traditional dance transformation have expanded to hybridization in cultural boundaries such as generation, gender, and taste within the region. This article aims to approach the issues of traditional dance and contemporaneity in the 2020s from the perspective of the diversity of traditional dance transformations. To this end, the article examines the emergence of ‘New Traditional Dances’ and discusses the scope of designation of traditional dances as intangible cultural assets, which show changes in the attitudes of Korean traditional dance community toward the concept and scope of traditional dances. It further looks at the appropriation of traditional dances in Ethiopia and Uganda, which reveals the context of local dances in the terrain of cultural globalization.
