화이트헤드 철학과 유식학 - 화이트헤드의 현실적 존재와 유식의 아뢰야식에 대한 비교 - = Whitehead`s Philosophy and Vijnapti - matrata

Whitehead`s Philosophy views god as the concept of wisely unifying universality, individuality, or the conflict of surrealistic world by setting god`s bipolarity, that is, dualism of mental and physical aspect. Whitehead indicates that potential to be completed by oneselfis latent in human being through continuous subjective orientation. In other words, it takes the same position as Buddhism that admits the Buddha-nature and the potential of Buddha of all human being. Vijn´apti-ma￣trata￣ sees human being as the flow of mind of self-conformity, self-decision, and self-organization of a￣laya-vijn´ana. Whitehead`s realistic existence contrasts with the seed of Vijn´apti-ma￣trata and his combination, with a￣laya-vijn´ana of Vijn´apti-ma￣trata￣. a￣laya-vijn´ana is also known as basic knowledge. The reason is that this knowledge becomes the fundamentals of all knowledge. Such a￣laya-vijn´ana stores and matures the seed which creates, maintains, and preserves a body and produces all matters of the phenomenal world. Vijn´apti-ma￣trata￣ says that there is no thing which forms in this world without the operation power and method of seed. Whether it is physical or mental. Nature in phenomenal world is developed by the karma of the seed. The seed is a basic design. This design is not fixed and always accepts and updates new information. showing its flexibility. Vijn´apti-ma￣trata￣ suggests that the use of information of life system which balances newness and confirmation and updates by itself is allowed by an operation method of the seed basically. This study examines the relations between Vijn´apti-ma￣trata￣ and Whitehead.
