문제해결의 상황성, 그리고 그 과정의 일상성: 민속-방법으로서의 진료행위에 관한 관찰 = How problem solving is embedded in everyday context: diagnosis as ethno-method observed

국문 초록 (Abstract)

문제해결은 크든 작든 우리가 항상 그 과정에 관여되어 있을 수밖에 없는 우리 일상사에 널리 편재하고 있는 현실의 일부다. 심리주의 이념의 패러다임에서는 문제해결에 동원되는 개인내적 사고는 상수로 그리고 문제해결이 전개되는 맥락이나 상황은 부차적이고 주변적이며 외생적인 변수로 간주함으로써 선형적인 과정으로 보도록 하는 경향이 있다. 본고에서는 상황적 추론과 실제적 행위를 통해 상황적 맥락을 운용하는 방식이 문제해결 그 자체를 구조화해나가는 과정을 민속방법론적으로 드러내 보고자 하였다. 민속방법론에서는 상황적 맥락을 엮어가는 우리의 행위가 곧 우리가 하고자 하는 바로 그 일과 다름 아니라는 점에 착안함으로써 우리의 사유와 행위가 어떻게 상황적으로 엮여 있는지 보여준다. 본 연구에서는 합리적인 문제해결에 전형적으로 관여하고 있다고 전문가로서 의사의 일상적인 업무 가운데 진단과 처방의 상황을 분석하였다. 업무 상황은 지식의 상황 분산성, 맥락의 엮음과 문제의 실제적 형성, 상황의 포월성과 사후수정의 불가피성 등의 특징을 보여주고 있는데, 이는 문제해결과정이 왜 비선형적이고 일상적인 모습으로 현현하는지 이해하는 데 중요한 단서를 제공한다. 본 연구의 분석 내용은 문제해결에 관한 우리 이해의 폭을 넓히고, 전문성 교육을 비롯한 문제해결능력 개발 관련 연구에 의미있는 시사점을 제시할 것이라고 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Problem solving is a part of our life, as we encounter it ubiquitously in everyday situations. Problem solving has been regarded as a linear process in cognition-in-person, and has treated situated properties as peripheral factors under the dominant paradigm of psychologism. This study relies on ethnomethodologcal study of work. Ethnomethodology presents a way to explore work as contextualizing a work floor with situated inquiry and practical actions. Ethnomethodological analysis leads us to re-specify ‘just thisness’, there and then as the work itself.
This study observes ordinary occasions on which an expert is doing his work, in this study a case of diagnosis and treatment of a surgery. This analysis will show how rational reasoning would be enveloped in continuoursly occasioned character. The analysis is expected to provide an understanding that the non-linearly enveloping, ordinary character of problem solving we experience in real situations comes from embeddedness of our cognition. Finally, this analysis will give insight to research on expert learning programs and further study on learning and problem solving.
