This study was to examine the differences of children`s stress according to their peer acceptance. The subjects for the study were 1,552 6th-graders selected from eight different elementary schools in T city. The measurement instruments adopted in the study were the sociometric test and stress test. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, Cross-tab analysis, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe`s test. The major findings of the study were as follows : (1) It was found that a majority of children were not affected by stress in general. However, they experienced relatively more stress in study domain than any other stress domain. (2) Popular children experienced less stress than rejected children. 1`hey experienced tile least stress in every domain. Controversial children and popular children experienced less stress than any other peer status groups in family environment, friend relationship and surrounding don)am. However, rejected children experienced more stress than any other peer status groups. And rejected children and neglected children experienced more stress than other peer status groups specially in friend relationship, study, and surrounding domain.
