The resistivity survey of Kong-Ju area is applied for water exploration, depth-bedrock determinations, sand and gravel exploration, etc.
In this area, along the Geum river, the vast alluvium deposits and gently sloped hills and valleys of from late mature stage to early old stage are developed.
The rocks exposed in this area are banded gnesis, migmatic gneiss, mica schist, porphyroclastic gneissose granite, Kyeongsang system and andesitic rocks etc.
The alluvium layer is comparatively thick. Ground water resources are developed plentifully in the allutivial planes of the Geum river basin. The main ground water is the free ground water contained in the alluvium deposits of the Geum river basin.
