Satellite remote sensing, with its synoptic coverage, is used to obtain the eutrophication-related water quality parameters in Paldang Reservoir. The approach involved acquisition of water quality data from point of 14 simultaneous with Landsat TM satellite overpass. All the remotely-sensed data and the ground truth data were obtained on 26 July 1994. Regression models have been developed between water quality parameters and Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM) digital data.
Satellite remote sensing can provide meaningful information on water quality parameters. and also, the regression models developed in this paper show good relationship for temperature, transparency, chlorophyll-a.
