중학교 사회과 교육과정의 변천과정에 관한 연구 = A Study of the Change of the Secondary Social Studies Education Curriculum

The primary purpose of this study lies in the summary of the curriculum of social studies from the instructional principal era to the 6th curriculum era in Korea.
In this study, I presented the preliminary concepts for the analysis in chapter Ⅱ. Based on the preliminary concepts such as the nature of social studies education, the mode of social studies curriculum, some results of the analysis are as follows:
The characteristics of the early curriculum ear relatively emphasized the subject-centered curriculum by taking experience-centered font and the integration mode of social studies, while that of the middle period put the stress on the discipline-centered curriculum and separate mode social studies. And the characteristics of the final period in this study revealed that the tendency to recover the drive for the intergation mode of social studies prevailed basing on the mode of humanistic curriculum.
Summing up, the social studies curriculum in Korea has a multifaced character whereby strikingly contrasting logics as well as viewpoints exist side by side.
