This study examined the casual relationship between self-efficacy and creative personality by three waves of panel data that were collected in the schools of Educational Welfare Investment Priority Zone project. A total of 428 female students from grade 4-9 responded to the same survey in 2008, 2009, and 2010. For the purpose of this study, autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was applied to analyze the casual predominance between self-efficacy and creative personality.
As a result, the stability coefficient showed that the two variables were significantly stable for 3 years. A self-efficacy had a statistically significant effect on creative personality and creative personality predicted self-efficacy at a statistically significant level. However, creative personality showed a positive relationship on casually predominant over self-efficacy.
These results suggest that self-efficacy and creative personality have reciprocal causality over time. It also implies that the designing a creative learning opportunities based on self-efficacy is important factor for the female students from economically disadvantaged families.
