開城工團 立地與件分析과 發展方向에 관한 硏究 = (A) study on the development direction & analysis location conditions of Gaesung industiral complex

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since North Korea and South Korea agreed upon "development agreement on industrial complex construction" on august 2000, December 2004 South Korea has 13 companies constructing factories in the "Gaesung Industrial Complex(GIC)" house developing model, 'living art' which is a kitchen utensil manufacturing company that has already completed it's factory in the GIC and is about to hold a completion ceremony on the 10^(th) of December 2004.
Thus GIC which is important to both South and North Korea has a character of a "Special Economic Zone(SEZ)". So this thesis investigates the definition of SEZ and the policy of nations on this SEZ, and the present condition of SEZ development of both North and South Korea. Also this thesis investigates the present state of the GIC project, by studying the stage of the development plan, roads, railway, harbor, electricity, water supply, airports and etc of the entire North Korea and Gaesung city to know the present state of the GIC and developments to be made for it to succeed.
GIC is analyzed to give profit to both north and south Korea also effecting its political, military, social, cultural sides. Development of the GIC is concluded to have benefits toward being connected to Europe by promoting connection of the roads and railways between Seoul and Sinuiju and such as TSR(Trans Siberian Railway) and TCR(Trans Chinese Railway) which connects to TAR(Trans Asia Railway) which will effect north east Asia to leap into "Nation of Hub-Distribution". Also the development of the GIC will alleviate the military tension around Gaesung and Munsan since the area will be developed into an economically cooperating zone between north Korea and south Korea.
The SOC of north Korea is what seems to be the condition of the 70's of south Korea. To succeed in developing the GIC and to reduce the cost after the unification of north and south. Our government has to support and also we have to form an investing condition plus we have to have a standardization and unification of the construction technique and the national assembly should explain the present state of the north and south's economical cooperation for the GIC development and persuade the people by sharing policies with opposition party, also at the same time the north has to earn political and militarical foreign trust between the six-way conference which discucces on how to open talk and reform about the nuclear problem to succeed in developing the GIC.
