The subjects of this research include twelve gold, silver and bronze medalists who took part in the floor exercise competition Ⅲ in 1989 Stutgarte World Championship, 1992 Barcelona Olympics, 1996 Atlanta Olympics and 1997 World Championship.
The comparative analysis of their exercises according to the new code of points show the followings:
1. The most frequently exercised techniques was double salts backward stretched
among elements backward, salts forward tucked among elements forward, flare to
handstand among elements flare, from stand press handstand among handstand. SE
difficulty was double salts backward stretched with a half and triple salto backward tucked.
2. The average difficulty of exercises from 1989 to 1997 was respectively 11 in 1997, 9.7 in 1996, 7 both in 1992 and in 1989. difficulty D and E amount to 7 (31.8%) in 1989 and 1992, and 13 (39.4%) in 1997.
3. Nobody except L1 showed combination series exercise in 1989 and 1992. In 1996 ME got 1.2 bonus points by 4 combination series exercises and LX got 1.4 bonus points by 3 combination series exercises. It can be said that high difficulty combination exercise gets higher points.
4. The total value points are increasingly 16.7 in 1989, 18.0 in 1992, 27.0 in 1996 and 36.3 in 1997.
5. Bonus points and start value were respectively 0.30 and 8.90 in 1989, 0.37 and 8.97 in 1992, 0.80 and 9.40 in 1996 and 1.27 and 9.87 in 1997. The increasing points indicate that a remarkable progress has been made in techniques.
