19세기 중국어 書面語 교재 ≪文件自邇集≫에 나타난 중국어 문법 고찰 －≪文件字句入門≫과 ≪文件自邇集･注釋≫의 내용 분석을 통하여－ = A study of the Chinese Grammar in ‘Wen-Chin Tzu-Erh Chi: A series of Paper Selected as Specimens of Documentary Chinese’

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This is a rudimentary study on the Chinese grammar in Chinese written language manual ≪文件自邇集: Wen-Chin Tzu-Erh Chi: A Series of Paper Selected as Specimens of Documentary Chinese-Designed to Assist Student of the Language Written by the Officials of China≫ during the 19th century. ≪文件自邇集≫ is the first documentary chinese textbook written by Wade (1818~1895, Thomas Francis Wade), who is a British diplomat during the mid-to-late 19th century, for the purpose of preparing an official document. It is a textbook for the study of written and sentence-style Chinese, which is different from tongue and spoken language. It is published in London, England in 1867.
This study examines the grammatical items and contents in the textbook. I want to understand the contents and characteristics of grammar in modern Chinese that appear in practical sentences such as official documents.
In addition, I would like to study what kind of Chinese grammar items are difficult for foreigners and how they are recognized and learned. This study will have two implications as follows.
First, it will be possible to seize what kind of Chinese grammar contents are traditionally difficult for Western people, and how they have understood and learned them. By this study, Based in the contents of ≪文件自邇集≫ and ≪文件自邇集･注釋≫, I would like to give careful consideration to the written and sentence-style Chinese.
The results of study can be reflected in the current Chinese grammar education. These studies also will help to understand the current state of modern Chinese grammar research and to grasp the difficulties of Chinese grammar as a foreign language. If we reflect the results of this study in current Chinese grammar education actively, we can get a hint to solve the difficulties of Chinese grammar.
Secondly, it will increase the interest in the collection of ≪文件自邇集≫ in Korea, and the follow-up studies will be conducted more actively. This would also help correcting the wrong information again.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 19세기 중국어 書面語 교재 ≪文件自邇集≫에 나타난 중국어 문법에 관한 초보적인 연구이다. ≪文件自邇集≫은 19세기 중후기 주중영국 외교관으로 활동한 웨이드(1818~1895, Thomas Francis Wade)가 공문서 작성을 위해 편찬한 최초의 서면어 교재이다. 1867년 영국 런던에서 출간된 ≪文件自邇集≫은 古文과 다르고 口語와도 다른, 공문서 작성용 문체인 文件體[문서체] 중국어 학습을 위해 만들어진 교재이다.
본 연구는 ≪文件自邇集≫에 나타난 문법 항목과 내용을 고찰하여, 공문서와 같은 실용문에 나타난 근현대 중국어의 문법 내용과 특징을 파악하고자 한다. 본 연구는 다음의 두 가지 의의가 있을 것이다.
첫째, 중국어 문법 학습에 있어서 서양인들이 전통적으로 어떠한 문법 내용을 어려워했고, 이를 어떻게 이해하고 학습했는지를 파악하여 현재의 중국어 문법 교육에 반영할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 ≪文件字句入門≫와 ≪文件自邇集･注釋≫의 내용을 중심으로 ≪文件自邇集≫의 문서체 서면어 중국어 문법의 특징을 고찰하는 것이다. 이 연구는 아직 미진한 근현대 문서체 서면어 문법 연구의 현황 파악과 외국어로서 중국어 서면어 문법의 난점을 파악하는 데에 도움을 줄 것이다. 본 연구의 결과를 현재의 중국어 문법 교육에 적극적으로 반영한다면 중국어 문법의 난점을 해결하는 힌트를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
둘째, 국내에 소장된 ≪文件自邇集≫에 대한 관심을 유발할 것이며 보다 활발한 후속연구를 기대해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 근현대 중국어 문서체 문법에 관심을 기울일 것이며, 국내에 소장된 ≪文件自邇集≫을 학계에 소개하여 더욱 활발한 후속연구를 기대해 볼 수 있을 것이다.
