탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용프로그램 (EMP : Ethnographic Movement Program) 모형 개발

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국사회에서 급증하고 있는 탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용 교육 프로그램 모형(EMP: Ethnographic Movement Program)을 개발하는데 목표를 둔다. 최근 한국사회로 입국하는 탈북인의 수적 급증에 따라 한국 사회 내 정착을 돕기 위해 기초 생활지원뿐 만 아니라 질적인 차원에서 한국사회와 문화를 이해할 수 있도록 돕는 프로그램 개발이 요구 되고 있다. 또한 정착 지원 현장에서 대상별 특성화 및 요구도 파악의 필요성, 대상자 욕구를 반영한 전문 인력을 통한 프로그램 개발 연구의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 2007년 전체 탈북자 인구의 약 80%를 차지하게 된 탈북 여성이라는 대상의 특성을 이해하고 국내 정착과정에서 실질적으로 무엇을 요구하는지 반영하여 탈북여성들이 한국사회에서 문화적으로 융화될 수 있도록 돕는 보다 현실적이고 전문적인 무용교육 프로그램을 제시할 것이다.

탈북인 여성을 위한 무용교육 프로그램 모형을 개발하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용참여 요구도는 어떠하며, 탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용교육모형은 어떻게 구성해야 하며, 탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용교육모형의 효과는 어떠한가에 관한 연구문제를 설정하였고 그에 따른 결과를 도출하였다.

연구대상으로 서울시내 위치하고 있는 정부 지원을 받는 지역복지기관에서 교육에 참여하고 있거나 탈북자 단체에 속해있는 탈북여성 42명, 그리고 기관 담당자 20여명으로 총 62명이 선정되었다. 탈북자 및 탈북여성의 현황, 현재 국내 탈북여성을 위한 교육기관 및 프로그램 등 관련된 문헌을 연구하고 이러한 문헌을 바탕으로 대상자에게 비구조화된 설문조사와 심층면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과 탈북여성들의 무용 참여 욕구 유무와 무용참여 욕구 원인을 파악하고 그 양상을 분석하였다.

탈북여성들의 사회문화적 특수성과 무용참여요구도를 바탕으로 EMP 무용 프로그램을 구성하였다. 신체인지, 심리정서적 표현, 사회문화적 이해, 문화의 수용 및 적응 네 단계로 구성된 EMP 무용 프로그램은 실제로 탈북여성들에게 3회에 걸쳐 실시하여 그 효과를 검증하였다. 3차례의 시강결과는 평가 도구(신체측정, 구조화된 설문지, 심층면담, 영상분석)를 통해 분석되었으며, 신체적, 심리 정서적, 사회 문화적 관점에서 그 효과를 검증함으로써, 탈북여성의 문화수용력 증진을 위한 무용 프로그램(EMP)모형을 완성하였다.

본 연구를 통해 완성된 탈북여성의 문화 수용력 증진을 위한 무용교육모형(EMP)은 대상의 문화적 특수성을 반영하고 수용하는 형태로서, 교사의 일방적인 문화 전달이 아닌 교사와 학생간의 쌍방향의 상호작용이 이루어진다는 점에서 새로운 형태의 무용교육 모형으로서 발전 가능성을 제시한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research aims for devising EMP(Ethnographic Movement Program) model which can improve North Korean female refugees' ability to adapt to social and cultural environments in South Korea. During a decade, the number of North Korean leaving to South Korea has rapidly increased, and female refugees accounted for approximately 80 % of the population of North Korean refugees in 2007. It is required to develop resettlement aid programs for North Korean refugees in order to raise the economical quality as well as the cultural quality of their living conditions. The research will present dance education program(EMP) for North Korean female refugees which can promote the social assimilation into South Korea culture. Then, EMP model will reflect their sociocultural characteristics but also their practical demands.

The inquiries of the research are the following: what extent North Korea female refugees demand to participate in dance activity, how the EMP model should be constructed and how the EMP model affects North Korean female refugees' ability for cultural awareness and integration into South Korean culture.

As the research object, forty two North Korean female refugees and twenty officers who work in social welfare facilities are chosen. After looking into literature reviews of North Korean refugees, the research carried out a semi constructed survey and interviews, which are intended to examine North Korean female refugees' desire to participate in dance activities. By analyzing the literature reviews, a result of the survey, and the interview contents, devised EMP model consists of four parts(physical awareness, psychological/emotional expression, sociocultural understanding, adaptation and assimilation). Through three times of example dance classes, this EMP model was carried out for the participants. The example classes are analyzed and evaluated in terms of how their physical, psychological, sociocultural feature are changed, in order to verify the effect of the devised EMP model.

To conclude, the EMP model can encourage North Korean female refugees to assimilate into South Korean society and culture, since it not only reflects what their social demands and cultural characteristics are, but also leads cultural interactions among a teacher and participants rather than an unilateral delivery of the teacher to the participants.
