유아를 위한 동작활동 프로그램의 경향 -백화점 문화센터 중심으로- = Tendency in Movement Activity Programs for Children -Culture Centers in Department Stores-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 문화센터에서 제공하는 동작활동 프로그램의 경향을 조사하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 인터넷을 이용하여 전국의 백화점 19개소의 105개 문화센터를 검색하였고, 이 중 프로그램이 상대적으로 많이 운영되고 있는 백화점 2개소의 44개 문화센터를 선정한 뒤, 현재 실시되고 있는 동작활동 프로그램을 조사하였다. 연구 결과 44개 문화센터에서 진행 중인 동작활동 프로그램은 총 147개로 주로 신체활동 프로그램이 진행되고 있었으며, 그 외 음악교실과 함께 제공되는 프로그램, 통합놀이 프로그램 등 으로 나타났다. 신체활동 프로그램에서는 마사지 요가, 발레, 도구를 활용한 체육, 춤, 체육레크레이션 등의 다양한 프로그램이 제공되고 있었으며, 이 중 발레프로그램이 가장 많았고, 체육레크레이션 프로그램이 두 번째로 많았다. 또한 프로그램 진행을 담당하는 강사들의 전공과 이력은 매우 다양하였다. 다양한 동작활동 프로그램이 제공되는 점은 부모들의 관심이 유아의 신체활동의 중요성을 인식하고 있기 때문이므로 유아의 전인적 발달에 긍정적이라 할 수 있다. 다만 동작활동 프로그램이 유아의 발달적 특징에 적합하며, 단순한 특기교육에 그치지 않고 통합적 교육이 될 수 있도록 내실있는 프로그램의 개발 및 강사의 유아교육에 대한 충분한 이해를 위한 제도적 장치가 필요한 것으로 보인다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate trends in movement activity programs for childhood provided by culture centers in department stores. 105 culture centers in 19 department stores were searched through Internet, and 44 culture centers in 2 department stores were selected for analysis. 147 programs related to movement activities for childhood were provided by the culture centers. Physical activity programs were dominant among them, and music class and integrated play programs were included. In physical activity programs included massage, yoga, ballet, physical exercise with instruments, dance, and physical recreation. Especially, ballet and physical recreation programs were predominant among the programs. The major and career of instructors were greatly various. It is positive trend for childhood education for the whole person that various programs related with movement activities for childhood were provided in culture centers. However, a systematic program which certifies instructors` good understanding about childhood education may necessary to guarantee quality of education.
