In these days the subject of literature education seems to have been reversed. In fact, only teacher centered literature classes are being given. And students have considered the literature just as an acquirement of knowledge or an unavoidable course for admission to a school of higher grade. Besides, students consider the subject as a course for cultivating the reading ability for the entrance examination rather than enjoying a piece of literature work. In this situation, we need to recover the lost sensitivity for literature. Therefore, in this thesis we formulated a program to establish the students' subjecthood in the literature learning and it would be a very meaningful model for literature education. In other words, it means that a new literature study model in thesis can help the students to recover their autonomous rights by searching for the meaning of a literature work and constructing it. At that time, teachers should play a role as an assistant or an advisor in the literature education.
Accordingly, the literature class on the basis of constructivism that is student centered literature class by making students seek for the meaning of literature works is very suggestive.
The process of literature education on the constructivism is as follows recognition of the text forming communicant discussion through cooperative learning inducement to synthetic meaning. In the literature education on constructivism, teachers set a task to each students as a unit of individual and group, and value a process of communication through questions and answers between teachers and students Neither aesthetics of reception-originally this theory comes from German literature, and in English it is generally called as Reception Theory-nor, reader-response-theory has produced the problems of the inducement of uncontrolled and cursory meaning. In the literature education upon the constructivism, however, we arranged our class on the process of inducement of synthetic meaning of a literature work through the cooperative learning. Also we provided our students with a checklist for their self-examination. So students could have an opportunity to examine the extent of their understanding on a literature work, their participation and effect of the course through cooperative learning.
Novel education should approach to a leaner centered literature education and get out of a text centered literature education in order to pursue essential purposes, the learner's esthetic experience and the formation of character, based on proper understanding and appreciation of a work.
So to speak, the perspective of novel teaching that it is possible and an effective teaching method for teachers to make their students connect to the truthfulness of the fictional lives in literary texts must be kept in teachers mind when teaching in class. This study also designed a model of the relations between the valuable and meaningful contents the texts and our real life as reading Jo Se-Hui's another short story cycle.
