『질마재 신화』의 담론 구조와 서술 방식 = The Genre Characteristics and the Effects of Narrative Poetry in the myth of Jilmajae

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문의 목적은 『질마재 신화』의 담론 구조와 서술 방식을 규명하는 것이다. 『질마재 신화』 속 ‘질마재’ 시편들의 배열에는 장르적 감각이 담겨 있는데, 그것은 담론 구조와 밀접한 연관성을 띤다. ‘질마재 신화’는 언표 주체로서의 화자가 표면적으로 드러나는 일인칭 회상 형식의 경험적 서사체 시편들과 전달자(매개자)로서의 화자를 내세우는 허구적 서사체 시편들로 크게 나뉘며, 후자의 경우 화자와 초점자가 분리․충돌하는 시편들과 일치하는 시편들로 나뉜다.
『질마재 신화』의 경험적 서사체는 대개 ‘나’라는 언표 주체가 표면에 드러나며 주로 개인적 경험을 서술한다. 시인과 화자의 거리는 가까우며 유년 시절의 사건을 회상하는 화자가 작품의 전면에 드러난다. 서술자는 초점자의 자리에 있다가 뒤로 물러서거나 반대로 이동하면서 시가 전개되는 특징을 보인다. 이를 통해 과거와 현재의 시점 또는 화자와 대상이 병렬되면서 교감에 이른다. ｢해일｣로 대표되는 시편들이 여기에 속한다.
｢상가수의 노래｣로 대표되는 시편들 또한 경험적 서사체의 형식을 띠기는 하지만 화자가 시적 상황의 바깥에 위치하는 매개적 화자로서 기능한다. 즉, 서술자와 초점자가 일치하며 숨은 화자로서 이야기를 전달한다. 하지만 숨은 서술로 일관하던 것이 시의 종결부에서 화자의 해석과 논평이 전면화되면서 인물과 상황에 개입한다. 이와 함께 양립 불가능하거나 불일치하는 것들이 병치되면서 인물의 성품과 행동의 의미가 역전되는 전개를 보인다.
질마재 신화의 후반부를 차지하고 있는 시편들은 과거와 현재의 연결 또는 대비를 강조하면서 삶의 교훈을 전달하는 데 집중한다. 단절․분리의 감각보다는 지속․연결의 감각을 전면에 내세운다. 어떤 사실에 대한 정보를 전달하면서 그 속에 깃든 삶의 지속성과 영원성의 주제를 전달한다. 인물의 행동 변화나 사건의 급속한 전환 없이 ‘지혜의 발견과 전수’가 전면화된 평면적인 서술 형식을 취한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the genre characteristics and effects of narrative poetry of the myth of Jilmajae. The arrangement of poems in the myth of Jilmajae contains its own genre sense, which can be divided into the nature of the subject of utterance, the degree and manner of intervention of enunciation. When the narrator as the subject of utterance is exposed on the surface, it can be largely divided into empirical narrative style in the form of first-person reminiscence, which are usually revealed as personal pronouns “I,” and fictional narrative style that present the narrator as a messenger or mediator. On the other hand, in the latter case, the narrator and focalizer are separated or collided with the psalms that coincide with them.
Empirical narratives in the myth of Jilmajae usually focus on describing his personal experience, with the subject of discourse, exposed on the surface. The distance between the poet and the speaker is relatively close, and the events of childhood are mainly described in a reminiscence form, and the form of the speaker is revealed in the front of the work. The narrator is in the position of the focal point and then moves backwards or reverses, and the poem develops, so that the past and present viewpoints are paralleled or the speaker and the object are paralleled to reach the sympathy.
Poems represented by “Advanced-singer’s song” are in the form of empirical narrative, but there is a difference in that the speaker adheres to the position of the mediating speaker located outside the poetic situation. In these poems, the narrator and the focal point coincide and deliver the story as a hidden narrator, but this hidden narrator intervenes in the character and situation to some extent by making his interpretation and commentary in the end of the poem consistent with the hidden narrative. Incompatible and inconsistent things are juxtaposed and reversed.
The poems occupying the second half of the series of the myth of Jilmajae concentrate on delivering an instructive principle concerning human life, emphasizing the connection or contrast between the past and the present, and putting the sense of continuity and connection in front rather than the sense of disconnection and separation. It conveys information about a fact and conveys the theme of the continuity and eternity of life in it. There is no big action of the person and there is no rapid transition of the event. However, the discovery and transfer of wisdom is consistently overlaid, so it takes a flat narrative form.
