Sealings between doors and vehicle body are essential to keep airtightness of vehicle compartment and to cut off outside noise, rain and dust. They are usually made of expanded rubber and deform similar to cork whose poisson's ratio is nearly zero. Therefore hyperform material model is used for analysis. Simulation is done by using ABAQUS. In order to confirm this material model, simple tension test and door seal compression test are performed
and the results are compared with simulation and they showed good agreement. Finally, design parameter study is performed using Taguchi method to find optimal seal design of reduced reaction force. The change of thickness and material strength of door seal of window frame is the most effective in reducing reaction force.
