아동학대에 관한 불교 상담적 접근 = Buddhist Consultative Approaching to Child Abusion

국문 초록 (Abstract)

‘가화만사성(家和萬事成)’. 가정이 화목하면 모든 일이 잘 풀린다는 말이다. 이처럼 가정은 가족구성원의 심신을 안정시키고 휴식을 취할 수 있는 곳임과 동시에 사회적 기반이다. 하지만 최근 부천 초등생 살인사건, 부천 여중생 백골시신 사건, 큰딸 살해 암매장사건, 부천 2개월 영아 학대, 방치사건, 평택 실종아동 원영이사건 등의 천륜을 뿌리째 흔드는 사건이 빈번하게 발생하여 사회에 큰 충격을 주고 있다. 또한 조사에 따르면 아동학대 가해자의 81.8%는 피해자의 부모로 드러났다. 연속되는 충격적인 사건으로 인해 해당 아동들의 참혹하고 비극적인 죽음에 전 국민이 슬픔과 분노를 금치 못할 뿐 아니라, 아동학대에 관한 국민들의 좀 더 적극적인 관심과 경각심을 불러일으키고 있다. 유년기에 학대를 경험한 아동은 피해 후유증으로 인해 공격성을 나타내게 되고, 비행이나 범죄 등 또 다른 사회문제를 양산하게 된다. 이와 같이 학대받은 아동은 신체적·정신적인 후유증으로 인해 자기 자신 뿐 아니라 사회적으로도 장·단기적인 문제를 일으킬 수 있기 때문에 아동학대는 개인이나 가정의 문제가 아닌 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 사회를 구성하는 가장 기초적 단위인 가정에서 벌어지는 일이기는 하지만, 자비를 근간으로 하는 상생을 중요시 하는 불교 역시 관심을 가져야 할 것이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이러한 아동학대가 발생하는 원인은 과연 무엇인가? 그 원인에 대하여 다각적으로 살펴보고, 그 중 부모 가해자의 심리적인 불안으로 인한 아동학대에 대하여 불교 상담을 통하여 해결점과 불교의 역할에 대하여 논하여 보고자 한다. 오늘날 불교상담이 내포하고 있는 정신문화를 통해 가해자들에게 자아 성찰의 기회를 제공함으로써 심신 치유의 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

‘Gahwamansasung(家和萬事成)’. It means that when home is peaceful, everything else goes well. As the phrase goes, home is a place where family members can stabilize their mind and body, and take a rest, and it is also the foundation of society. However, the recent incidents that break the moral law of family relationship-the murder of an elementary school student in Bucheon, a middle school student’s skeleton found in Bucheon, killing and burying one’s own daughter, abusing 2-month-old baby in Bucheon, neglecting a child, the case of the missing child, Wonyoung in Pyungtaek-are sending shockwaves to society. According to a research, 81.8% of child abusers are the children’s parents. The consecutive shocking incidents that involve the children’s cruel and tragic deaths are making the whole country sad and angry, and at the same time arousing interest and attention about child abuse. People who experience child abuse in childhood become aggressive due to the aftereffect of the abuse, and can cause social problems such as delinquency and crime. As abused children can cause short- and long-term problems to themselves and to the society due to physical and mental aftereffect, child abuse is not just a problem of a family but a problem of the society. As it is a problem occurring within a family, the smallest unit of society, it is not easy from Buddhist stand point to intervene in the issue. However, Buddhism, which emphasizes coexistence based on mercy, should pay attention. To this end, this paper aims to review the causes of child abuse from various perspectives, discuss the role of Buddhism in resolving this issue, and provide a solution through Buddhism consultative for child abuse that arises due to the psychological instability of abusers. The spiritual will offer child abusers a chance to look back on themselves through the assimilation with nature, and will serve an important role in treating mind and body.
