This study proposes a column-supported structural system for installing energy storage systems(ESS) on rooftop vertiports, which serves as a critical component of urban air mobility(UAM) infrastructure. Structural analysis confirmed that the system ensures safe load transfer. Additionally, the integration of rotational friction hinges reduced bending moments and facilitated visual alerts for structural responses. In addition, legal and construction feasibility were evaluated, confirming the system’s applicability for real-world deployment. The findings suggest that the proposed structure provides a practical and safe solution for rooftop ESS installation. Recommendations include full-scale validation and ongoing long-term monitoring.
