Ten samples of darkblotched rockfish, Sebastes crameri, purchased in Newport fish market were taken for parasitic copepods between February 13 to March 6, 2002. Two different species of copepods were recovered from examination of 10 darkblotched rockfish, Sebastes crameri during this study. Parasitic copepods recovered from S. crameri included Neobranchiella robusta and Chondracanthus triventricosus. Of the two species of parasitic copepods, N. robusta harboured 8 with the prevalence of 30.0% and C. triventricosus harboured 1 with the prevalence of 10.0%. In the parasitic copepods of the commercial catch the prevalence was found to be 40%. These worms were seen on the fin and gill filaments of the rockfishes examined. There appeared to be an attachment prevalence for the gill filaments and dorsal fin.
