This study proposed content in the field of safety education, utilizing Extended Reality (XR) technology, a key trend in the metaverse that has emerged with the advent of the untact era. Specifically, it aimed to explore the improvement of disaster safety education content by creating an educational environment that mirrors the real world using XR, particularly in areas such as safety education for disaster preparedness, which involves risks and incurs significant costs. A case study of safety education using XR for domestic disaster preparedness revealed that it was less effective than existing manuals. Consequently, the study proposed improvements to safety education content, enabling learners to quickly acquire necessary information, such as safety education items, beyond spatial limitations. As both domestic and international companies are focusing on the development of XR headsets and content, learning through XR is anticipated to become more prevalent in the future. This paper is expected to serve as an opportunity to recognize the importance of national disaster preparedness and response systems, alongside enhancing educational effects in the field of disaster safety education. It is also anticipated to assist in the development of similar XR-based content in the future.
