팀 프로젝트 참여 초·중·고 학생과 지도교사의 경험 사례 연구: 성공 요인의 관점으로 톺아보기 = A Case Study of the Experiences of Elementary, Middle, and High School Students and Their Instructors in a Team Project: Exploring from the Perspective of Success Factors

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 미래 인재로서 갖추어야 할 역량을 기르기에 적합한 교수-학습 방법론으로 알려진 ‘팀 프로젝트’를 수행할 때, 참여 학생과 지도교사가 발휘해야 할 핵심역량은 무엇인지, 지도교사의 역할과 비중은 어느 정도 발휘되어야 하는지, 최종산출물의 완성도가 전체 프로젝트의 성패 판정에 미치는 정도는 어떠한지 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 3주간 13시간에 걸쳐 실시한 ‘그린스마트 미래학교 팀 프로젝트 활동’에 참여한 초·중·고 학생 8명과 지도교사 3명을 대상으로 프로젝트 종료 후 개별 면담을 실시하고 이를 분석한 사례 연구이며, 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 팀 프로젝트를 성공으로 이끌기 위해 갖추어야 할 핵심역량에 대해 학생들은 ‘지식 정보처리 역량’보다는 대인관계 역량에 속하는 ‘협력적 의사 소통역량’을 많이 언급하였고, 지도교사는 ‘내용 지식(Content Knowledge)’보다는 ‘교수학적 지식(Pedagogical Knowledge)’을 더 중요하게 여기고 있었다. 둘째, 학생 주도의 팀 프로젝트 활동임에도 학생들은 지도교사의 비중을 50% 이상이라고 평가하여 지도교사의 역할을 매우 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 프로젝트 참여 학생들은 자신들이 만든 산출물의 완성도에 대해 지도교사의 객관적인 평가보다 더 높게 평가하는 경향이 있었다. 또한, 모든 학생이 자신의 팀 프로젝트는 ‘성공’이라고 평가하여 ‘실패’라고 언급한 사례는 없었다.
성공적인 팀 프로젝트 활동에 대해 지도교사와 참여 학생 간의 이러한 인식의 차이는 향후 팀 프로젝트를 기획할 때 주요 동기 이론에 속하는 ‘기대-가치 이론’, ‘자기결정성 이론’ 및 ‘자기효능감 이론’ 등을 준거로 학생들의 내재적, 실용적 가치를 충족시킬 수 있는 요소들을 적극적으로 고려할 필요가 있다는 점을 시사해 준다. 그렇게 함으로써 학생들의 관심과 참여를 높이고 팀 프로젝트의 성공 가능성을 크게 높일 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conducted to analyze the essential competencies that students and guiding teachers must exhibit when undertaking a ‘team project,’ a teaching and learning methodology known to foster the capabilities required for future talents. It also aimed to determine the role and significance of the guiding teacher and the impact of the final product’s completeness on the overall success of the project. The research involved a case study that conducted individual interviews after a 3-week, 13-hour ‘Green Smart Future School Team Project Activity’ with 8 elementary, middle, and high school students and 3 guiding teachers. The findings are as follows:
First, regarding the core competencies necessary for leading a team project to success, students emphasized ‘collaborative communication skills,’ which fall under interpersonal competencies, over ‘knowledge information processing skills.’ In contrast, guiding teachers prioritized ‘Pedagogical Knowledge’ over ‘Content Knowledge.’ Second, despite the student-led nature of the team project activities, students regarded the role of guiding teachers as very important, evaluating their contribution to more than 50% of the project’s success. Third, students tended to rate the completeness of their output higher than the objective evaluations by their guiding teachers. Additionally, all students considered their team projects successful, with no instances of failure mentioned.
The perception differences between guiding teachers and participating students on successful team project activities suggest the need to actively consider elements that can satisfy students’ intrinsic and practical values based on major motivation theories such as ‘Expectancy-Value Theory,’ ‘Self-Determination Theory,’ and ‘Self-Efficacy Theory’ when planning future team projects. Doing so could significantly increase students’ interest and participation and the likelihood of the team project’s success.
