This study is to contribute to the improvement of volleyball performance by finding clues that can predict the direction of the ball by comparatively analyzing the kinematic variables according to the set type of the setter. For this purpose, four setters were photographed using four cameras and then analyzed by DLT method. Analysis variables were comparatively analyzed: time required, vertical displacement of the body center, trunk segmental speed and upper extremity speed, and angle variables. Paired t-test was performed to confirm the difference between the two groups, and the statistical significance level was set to α=.05. The conclusion is as follows. The difference in direction between the setter's Delayed A set and the Back Delayed A set was revealed in the P2. It was found that the time difference Delayed A set took longer than the Back Delayed A set and the vertical displacement was larger. In the P2 section, the resultant velocity of the trunk, upper arm, forearm, and hand was higher in the Delayed A set than in the Back Delayed A set, and there was a difference between the two groups. Trunk tilt and facial angle were greater in the Delayed A set throw group and served as important clues in predicting throw direction.
