한국조사연구학회 학술활동 분석, 1999-2019 = Academic Trace of the Korean Association for Survey Research, 1999-2019

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We analyzed 1,190 papers in its official journal, conference proceedings, and tutorial lectures of the Korean Association for Survey Research (KASR) for 20 years since its foundation: 1999-2019. We first categorized those papers by their disciplines, methodologies, research objects, and data features. We then examined their trends by the categories in years and three distinctive periods: 1999~2004, 2005~2012, and 2013~2019. We also interviewed former and current presidents and executives of the KASR. Analysis showed that (1) papers with descriptive statistics have decreased whereas those with inferential statistics increased, (2) panel data have not been fully exploited, and (3) qualitative data have been minimally used. We proposed the KASR to continue baseline research with descriptive statistics, facilitate research with panel data, and exploit qualitative data by recent development of text-mining methods. The KASR can also keep their leading role of setting ethical guidelines in response to fast-changing survey environments.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국조사연구학회의 학술지, 학술대회 및 방법론 강의에서 발표되었던 1,190개 논문을 학문분야, 방법론, 연구대상, 데이터에 따라 분류하고, 지난 20년의 학술활동을 이러한 분류에 따라 연도별 또는 시기별(1999∼2004년, 2005∼2012년, 2013∼2019년) 특성을 살펴본다. 한국조사연구학회를 이끌었던 회장과 임원 등을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하여 그간의 학술활동의 특성을 파악하고, 한국조사연구학회의 장래 전망을 탐색한다. 분석의 결과 최근으로 올수록 기술통계보다는 추론통계 연구가 증가했지만, 패널조사자료의 활용도는 축적된 양에 비해 높지 않았고, 질적 자료 연구는 미약하였다. 한국조사연구학회는 조사연구의 근간인 조사방법론 연구도 발전시키는 한편, 축적된 패널자료의 활용을 높이고, 최근 급격히 발전하고 있는 텍스트 자료 축적 및 분석방법을 활용하여 질적 자료의 활용을 높일 필요가 있다. 또한, 조사연구윤리를 선도적으로 확립해 온 성과를 이어가, 최근 급변하는 조사환경에 적극적으로 대처해야 할 것이다.
