      The importance of uniform for working women has recentely promoted in many places where women play an important role. The purpose of this study was to investigate the present conditions of uniform and then to propose possible design illustrations for each occupational group.
      Surveying and interviewing were utilized for this study and the subjects were classified into three groups: ladies in bank, sales girls in department stores and waitresses in hotels. This study was done during March through November, 1984.
      1. The designs of uniform should be planned by considering age and figure in each group.
      2. The designs of uniform needed their own characteristics such as simplicity and comfort for office ladies, obscuosity for sales girls and the condition of working places for waitresses.
      3. The uniform should have its own functionality and durability by considering the type of job.
      4. The uniform should be constructed to be worn during spring, fall and winter by changing details slightly.
