국문 초록 (Abstract)

일반인들조차도 북한의 변화는 예측하기 힘들다고 한다. 한반도 비핵화와 관련해서 미중관계는 큰 틀을 형성하고 미, 일, 중, 러 4개국 모두가 6자회담 참여국으로 한반도의 평화와 안정이라는 목표를 공유하고 있음에도 불구하고 각국의 이해가 다를 수 있고 경우에 따라서는 충돌 가능성도 있다. 주변 국가들이 한반도에 어떤 변화를 가져올 것인가 또한 관심이 집중되고 있다.
따라서 본 논문에서는 최근 북한의 3대 세습체제를 서두르고 있는 시점에서 한반도를 둘러싸고 있는 한국과 중국의 정치적, 외교적 관계를 주목하고자 한다. 중국의 개혁개방이후 외교전략 변화 및 한반도 인식을 살펴보며 현 단계 한국과 중국관계의 문제점은 무엇인지를 분석하고자 한다. 국제환경변화에 따른 한국의 중국에 대한 외교정책방향이 무엇인지 고찰해 보며 나아가 한국과 중국관계의 발전적 제언에 대하여 살펴보았다.
결과적으로 현재 한반도 문제의 출구를 찾기 위해서는 중국의 역할과 미국의 정책, 남북관계의 변화가 핵심적인 변수이며 따라서 이러한 복합방정식을 동시에 풀 수 있는 대담한 상상력이 필요하다.
