한국 개발NGO의 교육개발협력 사업성과 분석

This research explores the achievement of educational development project conducted by Korean development NGOs in Africa. For this purpose, focusing on the Good Neighbors Hope School Project, a total of 2,756 students (1,489 students in 25 hope-schools and 1,267 students in 20 non-hope schools) from 45 schools in 7 African countries were surveyed. Through the review of the literature, we have developed research framework and survey instrument that include three aspects: the educational environment of the school, the education experience of the current students, and the educational performance. As a result of the analysis, the educational condition of the school improved in all aspects and the educational condition was higher than the average level in the surrounding area. In addition to the school facilities, Hope School students were relatively positive about the educational programs and teachers life guidance areas compared to the non-hope school students. Finally, in terms of educational outcomes, the school facility support project has shown positive effects on students cognitive, emotional and social development. Based on the results of this analysis, the implications for the improvement of school support projects in Africa were discussed as follow: the improvement of the school facilities project considering the educational achievement, the facility project connected with the education program, the importance of teacher support, and the integrated support considering parents participation.
