Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is an alternative process to sedimentation that is especially effective for the removal of low density particles such as algae, alum lloc and floc particles produced from treating water supplies containing natural color or humic substances.
This study was carried out to analyze the factors that influencing the air requirement of DAF system such as saturator pressure and recycle ratio in the water treatment.
The results are as follows:
1. The most adequate concentration of alum was 1.5mg A1,O/L at 40ppm of turbidity.
2. As the increase of bubble volume concentration, the residue turbidity was decrease.
3. At the same condition of bubble volume concentration, as the increase of saturator
pressure the residue turbidity was decrease.
4. At the same condition of bubble volume concentration, as the increase of recycle ratio, the residue turbidity was increase.
