특수학교 및 특수학급 졸업생의 진학 및 취업 실태 분석 = An Analysis of College Entrance and Employment Status of the Individuals Graduating from Special Education Schools and Special Education Classrooms

This study analyzed the college entrance rate, employment rate, and unemployment rate of the individuals graduating from special education schools and special education classrooms in South Korea and the trend of each status over the past 10 years.
In the current article, special education statistics since 2002, published by the Korea Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, were categorized and analyzed in order to explore the characteristics of college entrance and employment status. The results indicate that (a) many individuals graduating from special education schools and special education classrooms chose job training programs for post-secondary students or job training programs in local welfare centers; (b) the unemployment rate for individuals graduating from special education schools and special education classrooms decreased over time; (c) the employment rate for individuals graduating from special education schools decreased slightly, and (d) the employment rate for jobs or college careers not requiring assistance and support was very low.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 특수학교 및 특수학급 졸업생의 진학 및 취업 실태를 파악하고 그 특징을 밝히는데 있다. 이를 위해 교육과학기술부(교육인적자원)에서 발간 된 지난 10년간의 특수교육통계(특수교육실태조사서) 중 특수학교 및 특수학급 졸업생 수, 진학생 수 및 진학률, 취업생 수 및 취업률, 그리고 미진학생․미취업생 수 및 미진학률․미취업률에 대한 통계 자료를 정리하고 분석하여 그 특징을 파악하였다. 자료 분석을 통해 얻어진 특성은 첫째, 특수학교(급) 졸업생의 많은 수가 전공과 진학 및 복지관 취업을 선택하였다. 둘째, 특수학교 졸업생의 취업률은 다소간 감소한 반면 특수학급 졸업생의 취업률은 다소간 증가하였다. 넷째, 특수학교(급) 졸업생의 미진학률 및 미취업률은 다소간 감소하였다. 다섯째, 특수학교(급) 졸업생의 독립적 생활을 전제한 진학률 및 취업률은 상당히 낮은 수준이었다.
