      IIn efforts to improve residential space for 1∼2 person households, this study investigates the newly implemented plans and current types of Social housing. The results of the investigation and analysis are as follows:Through variable elements capable of various activities in space, variability should be secured by an arrangement of system furniture and three-dimensional space composition. In addition, various elevations should be formed using colors and balconies, rather than a standardized elevation. and space efficiency should be increased through scalability. Thus, the results show that a focus on the expansion of the living room is not only needed but an improvement of the bathroom and kitchen space should also respond to the housing preference of 1∼2 person households to improve the quality of housing. As for the layout plan, the entrance space for active connection with the street space should be planned to induce natural social exchange between residents.
      Adequate housing is a basic human right. Social housing should be adaptable to new lifestyles, Therefore, the suggestions in this study should be considered to help satisfy and meet the improvement demands for Social housing.
