포스트구조주의적 서사의 조건 고찰: 배수아의 『멀리 있다 우루는 늦을 것이다』(2019)를 경유하여 = A Study on the Conditions of Post-Structuralist Narratives －about Being Far away, Uru will be late (Bae Su-ah, 2019)－

This thesis aims to examine the conditions of poststructuralist narratives while analyzing Being Far away, Uru will be late (Bae Su-ah, 2019). Therefore, this thesis first advocates the narrative theory of post-structuralism. However, while analyzing Bae Su-ah’s recent novel, Being Far away, Uru will be late, you will also be able to explore the important features of the author’s novel language. And you will explore these revealing that this novel shows the maturity of the writer’s post-structuralist orientation.
The topographical map of the discourses that refer to “post” is usually not arranged. Among these the relationship between modernism and post-modernism is the most ambiguous. Therefore, rather than exploring the so-called “postmodern condition” as an ambiguous conception of criticism, this thesis will establish the new post-structuralist conditions of narrative based on Derrida’s post-structuralist philosophy, Saussure and Jacobson’s linguistics, and Freud and Lacan’s psychoanalysis.
The work that this paper specifically performs is the following three. The first is to closely connect the language structure to the post-structuralist world-view by specifying the language structure of the unconscious that is woven through metaphor and metonymy. This will further contrast modernism and post-modernism. The second is to apply structural narratology to post-structuralist philosophy and linguistics to identify post-structuralist language at the level of narrative rather than everyday language. Third, by analyzing Bae Su-ah’s text, which is the epitome of such a narrative, it contributes to polishing the language of criticism that can analyze such a novel.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 􋺷멀리 있다 우루는 늦을 것이다􋺸(배수아, 2019)를 들여다보면서 포스트구조주의적인 서사의 조건을 고찰하고자 한다. 그러므로 이 논문은 먼저 포스트구조주의 서사론을 표방한다. 하지만 배수아의 최근 단행본, 􋺷멀리 있다 우루는늦을 것이다􋺸를 분석하면서 작가의 소설 언어의 중요한 특징도 탐색할 수 있을 것이다. 이 소설이 작가의 ‘포스트’한 지향의 성숙을 보여주는 점을 밝힘으로써다.
‘포스트’를 운위하는 담론들의 지형도는 대개 ‘정돈’되어 있지 않다. 실상 모더니즘과 포스트모더니즘의 관계부터 그렇다. 이 논문은 혼란에 쌓인 비평적 개념으로서 이른바 ‘포스트모던의 조건’을 탐색하기보다 (포스트)모던한 언어의 조건을일정하게 규명한 데리다의 포스트구조주의 철학, 소쉬르와 야콥슨의 언어학, 프로이트와 라캉의 정신분석학을 기반으로 포스트구조주의적 서사의 조건을 새롭게 정초할 것이다.
이 논문이 특별히 수행하는 작업은 다음의 세 가지이다. 첫째는 은유와 환유로직조되는 무의식의 기표 구조를 구체화함으로써 이를 포스트구조주의적 세계관에밀접하게 접목하는 것이다. 이를 통해 모더니즘과 포스트모더니즘도 한층 대조할것이다. 둘째는 포스트구조주의 철학과 언어학에 구조주의 서사학을 적용해 일상언어보다 정세한 서사의 수준에서 포스트구조주의적인 언어를 규명하는 것이다. 셋째는 이러한 서사의 전형을 배수아의 텍스트를 통해 분석함으로써 이런 소설을분석할 수 있는 비평 언어의 연마에 일조하는 것이다.
