The CBTC system based on radio frequency is the recent development in the railway system. In this study, we consider the design process for the wireless network system matching with the actual circumstances in Korea by reviewing the restricted conditions of each element in the communication network. Three systems compared are single type system, standby-redundancy system and mixed-redundancy system. We show that the reliability of the mixed-redundancy system is better than single type system by 78percent. We expect that this study result can contribute to improve the network''''s reliability of the RF-CBTC system in local area due to improved design for the radio network.
