빈칸메우기 검사의 타당성 연구 = A Study of validity of the Cloze Test

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 실제 국어 수업에서 빈칸메우기 검사를 적용할 수 있는 가능성들을 찾아보고, 그 과정에서 빈칸메우기 검사를 수행하기 위한 여러 가지 정보들을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
첫째, 빈칸메우기 검사는 국어 능력을 측정하는 통합적인 평가 도구로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
둘째, 중학생의 경우 초등학생의 경우보다 빈캄메우기 검사와 국어 시험과의 상관관계가 의미 있게 더 높다.
셋째, 피험자들은 빈칸메우기 검사를 수행하면서 의미 구성의 과정을 거친다.
넷째. 빈칸메우기 검사의 난이도를 결정하는 것은 정보의 양과 어휘 자체의 난이도 등이다.
다섯째. 빈칸메우기 검사와 국어 시험의 상관관계가 빈칸메우기 검사와 전체 과목 평균과의 상관관계보다 더 높다. 이는 빈칸메우기 검사가 언어 영역에 대한 독창적인 평가 도구로 사용될 수 있다는 것을 보여 준다.
결론적으로, 본 연구가 밝힌 가장 큰 의의는 언어 사용 기능에 대한 평가 도구로서 빈칸메우기 검사가 초중등 학교 현장에 적용될 수 있는 근거를 마련하였다는 점이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the possiblity of applying the cloze test to the Korean language classrooms and explored a couple of information necessary for performing it adequately in the process. The following conclusions were drawn from the study.
First, the cloze test is a useful measurement tool to measure Korean language ability comprehensively.
Second, there is a higher correlational relationship between the cloze test scores and Korean language test scores of middle schoolers than that of elementary students.
Third, while taking the test students is engaged in the meaning-making process.
Fourth, the difficulty of the cloze test depends on amount of information and difficulty of vocabulary.
Fifth, a correlational relationaship between the close test scores and Koren language test scores is higher than one between the cloze test the average scores of the total subject areas. It indicated that the cloze text is able to be a creative assessment tool for a language area.
In sum, the significance of this study is that it put up scaffolding to apply the cloze test as an assessment tool for languge usage skills in elementary classrooms.
