코리언 아메리칸 2세들의 소외와 선교적 접근 = The Isolation of 2nd-Generation Korean Americans and Their Missional Approach

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the issue of isolation in the second generation from a religious point of view and propose a missional healing process. For this study, I examined the immigrant church and its isolated second generation and also, the pluralistic religiosity of the American religion and the religious conflict in the second generation of America. The second generation individual is isolated within the Korean-American church community, the American civil religion, and the traditional Korean customs. In addition, isolation manifests in everyday life through online identity, language, sex culture, and adaptation of the individual isolation. Therefore, the isolation of the second generation individual is a major concern for the immigrant society and the immigrant church needs to make a joint effort to prioritize this issue. Through this paper, I will propose missional approaches to the second generation individual’s isolation. The first is for the Korean immigrant church congregation to make the second generation understand that they are a core part of the church. Second is for the Korean immigrant church to make the ministry leadership structure open for the second generation to enter. Third is to develop ecological programs for the second generation to overcome its isolation. Fourth is to construct a network that will act as an integrated support group using a cooperation system. Fifth is to develop a sustainable alternative method for the second generation by enlisting professionals. Finally, the sixth is to activate cyber life for a positive influence in offline life.
