음양오행이 중국의 학문 및 교육에 미친 영향 = Influence of Yinyangwuxing on Chinese Study and Education

Yinyangwuxing was beginning of philosophy thinking and a base of natural science in the East and China. Studies of Yinyangwuxing progressed until the present can be classified in two cases. One is directly researched case researching oriental medicine or qigong. Another is study of philosophical approach focused on yinyang jia. This study is about influence of Yinyangwuxing on education that has not been researched by existing studies. For this study, the formation and development process of Yinyangwuxing were considered. Wuxing was formed before Yinyang, but Wuxing and Yinyang were combined through historical transition process, and they got meaningful and abundant philosophical meaning. Then this was reproduced expansively by influencing on Chinese education and culture and finally become a base supporting Chinese and Oriental culture. Academic influence of Yinyangwuxing progressed diversly. Concretely, it influenced on study of hundred schools of thought including school of naturalists, ru jia and dao jia, and medicine, politics, art, architecture, and astronomy. These influence experienced a great change through change of modern education. Especially, western education settled by western science and democracy considered Yinyangwuxing old tradition. Of course, excessive correlative thinking and dogmatic character of Yinyangwuxing should be criticized. However, there should be independent self-reflection about traditional culture including suddenly discarded Yinyangwuxing. By this study, there is an expectation to realize that Yinyangwuxing has played as cultural medium in Chinese education culture. Also, there is an expectation to provide diversity to Chinese education study focused on confucianism and to contribute to study of influence of Yinyangwuxing on eastern culture.
