생태계 위기와 종교적 영성의 각성 - 우주ㆍ신ㆍ인간적 영성(cosmotheandric spirituality)과 생태학적 중추신경계 비유론 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문에서, 필자는 오늘날 생태계와 자연환경 파괴라는 돌이킬 수 없는 인류의 대재앙 위협으로부터, 인류가 생존하기 위하여 근본적 실재관의 변화를 가져야 하며, 특히 종교적 영성의 각성이 절박함을 밝히려 한다. 생태계 위기에 직면하여, 인간의 종교적 영성의 각성을 위하여, 필자는 로마 가톨릭 신학자 라이몽 파니카의 ‘우주신인론적 영성’ 개념과 물리학자 장회익 교수의 온생명론에 입각한 ‘중추신경계 은유’를 중심으로 고찰한다.<br/>
라이몽 파니카에 의하면, 우주의 시대 경륜 단계는 삼단계인데, 역사 이전 단계와 역사 단계를 거쳐 이제 지금은 초역사 단계에 돌입했다고 본다. 그리고 창조주 하나님과 물질적 우주와 인간의 정신은 실재를 구성하는 구성소라고 보면서 전통적 정신/물질 이원론을 극복하자고 한다. 그의 실재관은 넓은 의미에서 범재신관의 범주 안에 속해 있다.<br/>
물리학자 장회익은 온생명체로서 지구생명과 그 일부분인 인간생명체의 상호관계성을 말한다. 그 상호관계는 마치, 인간의 몸 안에서 중추신경계가 몸의 다른 신체 부분에 관해 갖는 관계와 같다고 비유적으로 말한다. 중추신경계는 몸의 각 기관에서 제공하는 양분과 산소 등으로 인하여 살아 있는 세포기관으로서 기능하지만, 오직 유일하게 몸의 각 기관의 기능과 조직 구조를 전체적으로 이해하고 조정하는 ‘자기의식 기관’인 것이다. 몸이 병들면, 중추신경계도 병들어 죽게 되고, 중추신경계가 외부의 자극과 위험을 경고하지 않거나 몸의 기능을 조절하지 않으면 몸이 죽게 된다. 장회익의 은유는 전통적인 ‘청지기론 은유’를 넘어서 생태학적 윤리의식에 있어서 새로운 패러다임인 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this paper I will examine how the human spirit can face up to the crisis of ecosystem with the paradigm shifts of idea on the relationship between God, nature, and human being. I will examine two thinkers. The first thinker is a contemporary Roman Catholic priest, Raimon Panikkar, whose main theological theme is the cosmotheandric spirituality, and the other one is a Korean physicist, Hoe-Ik Chang whose kernal concept regarding with the ecological crisis is the metaphor of the central nervous system.<br/>
According to R. Panikkar, there have been three waves of fundamental consciousness on earth since its beginning. In these categories, we, at present, are taking up a step into 'transhistorical consciousness' through 'historical consciousness' and from 'nonhistorical consciousness' in terms of spiritual history. In the third kairological consciousness, we can not see the transcendent Godhead, cosmos, and humanity in separation.<br/>
According to Hoe-Ik Chang, the human being' s place in earth is, metaphorically speaking, the central nervous system in the body. Among the various organs of the body, the central nervous system is the only organ which is conscious of the structures and functions of the body. In a word, the central nervous system to the body what human beings to the earth.<br/>
What these two scholars have in common is that the constituent elements of the actual reality are mutually inseparable, unconfused, dependable, and circulated by each other in the kairos moment. This paradigm shift of the view of reality is none other than the spiritual awakening confronted by the crisis of environmental pollutions and of eco-system.
