TSS is classically characterized by sudden onset of high fever, hypotension, profound myalgia, vomiting, diarrhea, mucous membrane inflammation, nonfocal neurologic abnormality, polymorphous skin rash and desquamation. These clinical manifestations are usually accompanied by laboratory evidence of multiple organ-system dysfunction, caused by staphylococcus aureus exotoxin.
We report a case of toxic shock syndrome in a 19-year-old female patient with soft tissue infection after she made cigarette burn wound on her left forearm by herself. This case showed relatively mild but classical features of TSS and improved with conservative treatment. Long term result of this case was not available because patient discharged without medical follow-up.
