하버마스(Jürgen Habermas)의 테오리아(이론)와 프락시스(실천) 개념의 정치사상적 해석 = 정치학의 의미 회복을 위해

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 정치사상이 자기이해를 위한 인식의 출발을 이론과 실천의 문제로부터 삼아야 한다는 문제의식에 입각해서 테오리아와 프락시스의 문제를 비판적으로 검토해 보고 이를 통해 정치학에 대한 함의를 탐구한다. 본 연구는 이를 위해 과학적 정치ㆍ사회철학에 대한 하버마스의 비판을 정치사상적으로 해석한다. 하버마스는 테오리아와 프락시스의 의미가 아퀴나스에게서 어떻게 변형되었는지, 이 변형은 후에 마키아벨리와 모어에서 어떻게 구체화되고 있고, 종국에는 홉즈에게서 어떤 식으로 완성되었는지를 상세히 논증하고 있다. 본 연구는 하버마스에 대한 정치사상적 독해를 통해 오늘날의 정치학의 방법을 근본적으로 특징짓고 있는 테오리아와 프락시스의 분리 문제와 정치를 과학적 확실성에 입각하여 테크네와 포이에시스로 치환하려는 문제를 성찰하고자 한다. 테오리아와 프락시스의 문제를 탐구하는 것은 정치학, 정치사상 그리고 현실이라는 세 가지 차원의 문제를 비판적으로 성찰하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper starts with the questions of the self-understanding of the political thought and explores the relations between theory(theoria) and praxis. For this purpose, it interprets Jurgen Habermas’s concept of theory and praxis. Habermas criticizes above all More, Machiavelli. Hobbes because they, based on Aquinas’s concept of politics, transformed ‘praxis’/ ‘phronesis’ into a question of order and domination. According to him, they also transformed ‘theoria’ into a question of science and techniques for the manipulation of human activity, which led to the loss of the meaning of politics. The theoretical ground for his critics is the classical tradition of theoria from Aristotle to Vico, who emphasized the importance of phronesis and praxis in the political life. In sum, the nvestigation of theoria and praxis could contribute to understand critically the three-dimensional question of politics, political thought and reality. Especially, it could give a chance to retrospect problems of politics in the name of science, which thus adheres to scientific exactness and technological accuracy corresponding to an ideal of thechne and poesis.
