아동ㆍ청소년의 학업성취도에 대한 가족소득의 수준별 영향의 차이 = 아동 발달단계별 비교를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 학업성취도에 대한 가구소득의 영향이 소득 수준에 따라 달라지는가를 분석하였다. 연구문제의 분석을 위해 본 연구에서는 서울아동패널, 한국청소년패널(초4), 한국교육고용패널, 한국교육종단연구 등의 조사 자료를 사용하였으며, 분석방법은 다중회귀분석이다. 분석결과, 아동청소년의 학업성취도에 대한 가구소득의 영향은 저소득층일수록 상대적으로 강하게 나타났으며, 소득의 수준에 따라 학업성취도에 대한 영향을 매개하는 변수도 상이하게 나타났다. 이러한 가구소득의 수준별 영향의 차이는 아동청소년의 발달 단계에 따라서도 다르게 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과에 기초했을 때, 빈곤 가족 아동청소년의 학업성취도를 향상시키기 위한 사회적 지원은 빈곤을 감소시키기 위한 소득 향상정책뿐만 아니라, 빈곤의 영향을 매개하는 변수와 아동청소년발달 단계를 고려하여 제공될 필요가 있음을 보여주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzed the differences in academic achievement according to family income levels. The data came from the Seoul Panel Study of Children, the Korean Education & Employment Panel, the Korea Youth Panel Survey 2004(Primary School 4) and the Korean Education Longitudinal Study. Multiple regression analysis(OLS) was used throughout. Our results indicate that academic achievement differs according to the level of family income and also by developmental stage. The findings from this study suggest that societal support for poorer families contributes to improving the academic attainment of children and these social support mechanisms must take into account the child developmental stage. Moreover, these findings suggest that attaining better levels of achievement among low income children requires interventions according to the childrens' developmental stage, in conjunction with policies aiming at reducing poverty.
