There are some radical changes in history study by the emergence of post-industrial society, postmodernism and interactive multimedia culture. This paper is to show those effects and to suggest an alternative idea for history study today.
Daniel Bell's techno-sociological analysis on post-industrial society was introduced to explain the emergence of a multimedia age. Paradigm change by post-modem thought in history study was examined also. The instruments of history education are renovated by the emergence of digital society. PPT, films. DVD, computer, internet and the likes can be used for students' better understanding of history. This digital society or a multimedia age itself, also. should be a subject in history study. This new study must includes multimedia culture like hypertext, filmologie, digital arts and some ideas like post-modem thoughts. Psychology is very useful, I think, for the analysis of multimedia culture.
University or college today should prepare proper instruments, softwares, systems for students and their teachers, Creative idea or methods, also, must be introduced for a new study, I suggest a concept of identity for it.
