An Actual State of the Standard Pronunciation and a Necessity of Education with the Standard Pronunciation System

We need knowledge of Korean norm to pronounce korean language exactly and effectively. To pronounce korean language exactly and effectively is one of the pedagogical aim of Korean language. If written language norm is the spelling system of Hangeul, spoken language norm is the standard pronunciation system.But a new student of university graduating secondary education have low cognition that they must make knowledge of the standard pronunciation system. And really, they are not well aware of the standard pronunciation system. It is caused that they don't study properly necessity of standard pronunciation for spoken language norm on secondary education before matriculating in a university.As previously stated, to pronounce korean language exactly and effectively is one of the pedagogical aim of Korean language. To accomplish this aim, we must teach the standard pronunciation system with the spelling system of Hangeul on secondary education.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

國語科 敎育의 目標 가운데 하나인 ‘국어를 정확하고 효과적으로 사용’하기 위해서는 당연히 國語語文規範에 대한 지식이 요구된다. 文語에 適用되는 規範이 ‘한글 맞춤법’이라면 口語에 適用되는 規範은 ‘標準發音法’이다. 그러나 中等敎育을 마치고 대학에 들어온 신입생들의 경우 ‘표준 발음법’에 대한 지식을 갖추어야 한다는 認識도 희박할 뿐만 아니라, 실제 ‘표준 발음법’에 대한 知識 水準도 상당히 낮은 편이다. 이는 결국 대학에 들어오기 以前 時期인 中等敎育에서 口語의 規範으로서의 標準發音에 대한 必要性을 제대로 배우지 못했기 때문이라고 할 수 있다. ‘국어를 정확하고 효과적으로 사용’할 수 있도록 한다는 國語科의 敎育目標를 제대로 달성하기 위해서는 中等敎育에서 文語의 規範인 ‘한글 맞춤법’과 병행하여 口語의 規範인 ‘표준 발음법’에 대한 교육도 소홀히 해서는 안 될 것이다.
