베트남 학습자의 한국어 억양에 대한 음성학적 연구 - 베트남 거주 한국어학과 대학생 학습자를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 외국어로서의 한국어를 배우는 베트남인 한국어 학습자의 한국어 억양을 한국어 모어 화자의 억양과 비교하여 분석함으로써 베트남인 학습자의 억양의 특징과 발달 과정을 분석하고, 베트남인 학습자에게 억양을 교수함에 있어 교육적 제언을 하는 데에 목적을 두었다.
연구를 진행한 결과 억양에 있어서 베트남인 학습자와 한국인의 차이가 거의 없음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 학년별로 나타나는 억양의 차이 또한 거의 나타나지 않았는데, 이는 발음의 습득이 학습한지 6∼9개월 사이에 일어났기 때문으로 보인다. 이러한 결과는 외국어로서 한국어의 발음을 습득할 때에도 발음이나 억양의 습득이 학습 초기에 이루어진다는 것을 시사한다. 한편 베트남인 학습자의 억양이 한국인과 유사함에도 발음이 유창하지 않게 들리는 것은 베트남인 학습자의 종성 발음의 문제로 보인다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본고에서는 학습 초기의 발음 및 억양 교육의 필요성을 역설하였고, 베트남인 학습자에게 발음을 교수할 때에 연음 현상에 대한 충분한 지도가 필요할 것이라고 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the Korean intonation of Vietnamese students learning Korean as a foreign language by comparing them with those of Korean native speakers, and to analyze the characteristics and development process of Vietnamese learners’ Korean intonation, and to make educational suggestions in teaching Vietnamese learners.
The study confirmed that there was little difference between Vietnamese learners and Koreans in intonation. There was also little difference in intonation between grades, apparently due to the fact that the acquisition of pronunciation took place between six and nine months after learning. These results suggest that the acquisition of pronunciation or intonation takes place early in learning, even when one acquires the pronunciation of Korean as a foreign language. Meanwhile, the fact that the Vietnamese learner’s intonation is similar to that of Koreans, but their pronunciation sounds are comparatively not fluent, appears to be a problem with the Vietnamese learner’s pronunciation of their final consonants. Based on these results, this paper emphasized the need for pronunciation and intonation education in the early stages of learning, and suggested that sufficient guidance on the linking sound phenomenon would be needed when teaching pronunciation to Vietnamese learners of Korean.
