This study investigates the trajectory of liberal arts education suited to the posthuman era and proposes a hybrid curriculum that fosters ‘becoming-posthuman.’ In the human-centered era, Alice’s ‘white rabbit’ served as a guide on the path of human exploration; however, in the posthuman era, this symbol is reimagined as the ‘white rabbit’ in The Matrix, leading us into the realm of posthuman possibilities. As we stand at the crossroads between Homo sapiens and Homo Deus, t3he liberal arts must transcend anthropocentric frameworks and aspire toward the posthuman ideal, encapsulated by the notion of the ‘Star Child.’ To this end, this paper develops a concept-based inquiry model grounded in [Exploration-Implementation-Reflection], leveraging science fiction narratives to cultivate a curriculum on ‘becoming-posthuman.’ The curriculum employs six foundational concepts ― Otherness, Alterity, Memory, Corporeality, Boundaries, and the Extraterrestrial ― as conceptual lenses for exploration. This hybrid educational framework positions the ‘monolith’ as a new kind of white rabbit, guiding Homo sapiens in their transformative journey to become ‘Star Children’ who can extract meaningful narratives from vast oceans of data, thereby navigating the complexities of the posthuman future.
