Inhibitory action of zinc ion(Zn2+) on B-galactos i da se and dehydrogenases of activated sludge is studied. The results are as follows:
1. It is we 11 defined that Zn2+ has inhibitory function on B-galactosidase and dehydrogenases of activated sludge.
2. The concentrations of Zn2+ that inhibite about 21 per cent of B-galactos idas and dehydrognases were 100 p/mg activated sludge and 0.14M/mg activated sludge, respectively. It shows that Zn2+ has intensive inhibition on dehydrogenases
then B-galactosidase.
