국문 초록 (Abstract)

“가상현실”의 경험과 지식을 갖고 있는 사람들이 많지는 않지만, 오늘날 대부분의 사람들에게 더 이상 낯선 단어는 아니다. 역사적으로, 인간은 상상하고 꿈꾸었던 것들을 실현하기 위해 자신들의 능력을 증명해왔다. 가공할 만한 컴퓨터 기술의 혁신은 가상현실을 실제처럼 느끼게 하였다. 이 논문을 통하여, 저자는 독자들에게 가상현실에 대한 개념과 컴퓨터 시물레이션 기술을 설명하고 가상현실을 다양한 정신건강 분야에 보조 치료로 어떻게 사용할 것인지를 설명하고자 한다. 비록 정신건강 분야에서의 모든 가능한 적용과 연구들을 총망라한 검토는 아닐지라도, 임상적으로나 실험적으로 VR을 적용했다는 사실은 누구에게나 매우 흥미로운 연구가 될 것이다. 저자가 설명하고자 한 전반적인 견해는 저자의 독자적인 경험으로부터 얻어진 것이다. 저자는 이 검토를 통하여 가상현실의 적용이 정신건강을 어떻게 증진시킬 수 있는지에 대하여 알고자 하는 독자들의 기대에 부응하고, 보다 많은 사람들이 가상현실의 혜

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Though, the term “Virtual Reality” might be no more a strange word to the most of people in this century, a few people have experience and knowledge about the exact meaning of this term. Through the human history, men proved their ability to make dream come true what they imagine or dream of. Tremendous evolution of computer technology has been able to make feel virtual reality as real. Through this review, I’d like to provide the readers with a notion on virtual reality and computer simulation technologies and how they are being used as an adjunct in a variety of mental health care applications.
There would be no exhaustive review of all available applications or studies within a particular discipline, but is meant rather as a example of the exciting work which is being done in VR throughout the world. The whole ideas that the authors tries to explain mainly came from the author’s own experience. My hope is that this might serve as a catalyst to meet the reader’s expectation and encourage further learning about how technology can improve mental health care and eventually allow greater access to broader range of population.
