정년퇴직 후, 재취업에 성공한 한국 남성노인의 구직경험에 관한 현상학적 연구 = The Phenomenological Study on the Job Seeking Experience of Korean Elderly Male Retirees who Succeeded in Reemployment

The aim of this study is to observe the job seeking experience among Korean male retirees who have succeeded in reemployment, and to understand their experience more fully. In this study, we adopted De Giorgi's phenomenological research method. The research participants consisted of five elderly men who have succeeded in reemployment within six months by enrolling in official reemployment assistant agencies after retirement and tried at least twice to be reemployed. We utilized the purposed sampling and in-depth interview for data collection. Data analysis was based on Giorgi's 4 types of specific steps. As a result, five components and thirteen subordinate components were deduced from this research. To present these by time accordance, it is as the following: <strong desire for job seeking due to deprivation of social role: loss of role in home and society, feelings of financial pressure,>, <various attempts for finding jobs by formal or informal resource utilization>, <confrontation with internal and external obstacles: intra-conflict over unwanted work, feeling shame as service recipient, employment restriction due to age, low-accessibility to job information>, <overcoming obstacles through self-transformation: positive attitude in seeking employment, incessant effort to condescend, choosing the second best rather than the best>, <ambivalence of successful employment: regaining vitality of life, recovery of social self-existence, feeling the deficiency of current working conditions, chaotic role as elders and the like.> Based on these results, we discuss the meaning of Korean elderly male retirees' job seeking experience in the socio-cultural aspect and provide social welfare connotation and future research suggestions.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 정년퇴직 후, 재취업에 성공한 한국 남성 노인들의 구직 경험의 의미와 본질을 밝힘으로써 그들 경험에 대한 보다 풍부한 이해를 하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하였다. 연구참여자는 정규직에서 정년퇴직한 후, 공식적 노인취업지원기관에 등록하여 최소 2회 이상의 구직 시도를 통해 재취업에 성공한 지 6개월 이내의 자로 총 5명이다. 의도적 표집방법을 사용하였고 심층 면담을 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석은 Giorgi가 제시한 4가지의 구체적 단계들에 의거하였다. 연구 결과, 5가지의 구성요소와 13개의 하위구성요소가 도출되었으며 이를 시간적 흐름에 따라 제시하면, <사회적 역할상실로 인한 구직에의 강한 욕구: 가정 및 사회에서의 자기존재감 상실, 경제적 압박감>, <공식적, 비공식적 자원을 활용한 구직 시도>, <내, 외적 장애에 직면: 구직신청 시 느끼는 사회적 무가치감과 수치심, 원치 않는 직종에 대한 심리적 저항, 노인 취업의 현실적 한계를 인식, 신뢰할 만한 정보에 대한 낮은 접근성>, <자기변화를 통한 취업 장애의 극복: 구직을 향한 불굴의 의지, 나를 낮추려는 부단한 노력, 최선이 아닌 차선을 선택>, <취업 성공의 양면성: 삶의 활력을 되찾음, 사회적 존재감의 회복, 현 근로여건에 대한 아쉬움, 연장자로서의 직장 내 역할에 대한 부적절감> 이다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 정년퇴직한 한국 남성들의 구직경험의 의미를 사회문화적 맥락속에서 논의하고 사회복지적 함의와 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
