The purpose of this study is to perform an exploratory study on spatial pattern of juvenile prostitution using GIS space analysis technique by relating it to physical features of the region. For actual analysis, data on numbers of juvenile prostitution collected by counties in Seoul Metropolitan area is used which is an official statistics. Also, spatial pattern for hazardous environment variables data categorized by counties is used as well. Both data were studied using visualization through mapping the polygon data as well as exploratory spatial data analysis: ESDA. By using spatial information data on accommodation of teenage runaway as well as the place for prostitution obtained through the survey on youth at risk, geographical distribution of juvenile prostitution in microscopic geographic unit can be seen as a point pattern analysis on point data. Especially, it is verified that an active space where actual runaway, misdeed and juvenile prostitution occur is the subway station in the region. The degree of relevance of actual juvenile prostitution to subway station is examined through buffer-zone analysis. As a result of analysis, spatial gathering on juvenile prostitution is observed and spatial concentration of juvenile crime around Seoul, Incheon and Southwest of Seoul metropolitan area is appeared to be quite noticeable. Also, as a result of microscopic observation on cities in Seoul, Incheon and Kyeonggi region where the frequency of juvenile prostitution is the highest, spatial gathering is noticeable around subway stations. Based on this result, policy implications are obtained that claims the policies made by the authorities for controlling and regulating juvenile prostitution in future should base on precise and strict spatial analysis on target region where spatial concentration of juvenile prostitution stands out.
