This study theoretically and empirically investigates the conditioning variables of the strain on delinquency, not the core variables. The conditioning variables only enumerated by R. Agnew are divided into variables promoting delinquency and those restraining delinquency, which are further differentiated into variables controlling delinquency and those appreciating one``s own value. On the basis of these theoretical amplifications, it is empirically tested whether the strain effects on delinquency are promoted by variables promoting delinquency or not, and those effects are restrained by variables repressing delinquency or not. The effects of variables promoting delinquency are tested with the number of delinquent peer, low self-control, tendency toward behavorial coping, and perception of label, those of variables controlling delinquency with the parental attachment, teacher attachment, peer attachment, and those of variables appreciating one``s own value with self esteem, self efficacy, and emotion management. This study inquired hypotheses respectively the ten variables in cases of 3rd grade students in middle school(n=3,129) and 3rd grade students in high school(n=2,955). Utilizing the Amos 4.0, the analysis method of regulation effects was employed among the structural equation model, and produced the following results. Interestingly, the two samples tended to have same results. More interestingly, variables promoting delinquency tended to have the conditioning effects, whileas variables repressing delinquency did not. It means that the exposure of juvenile to variables promoting delinquency raises the possibility of committing delinquency by juvenile vulnerable to delinquency in consequency of experiencing strain, whereas the exposure of juvenile to variables restraining delinquency has no effect on the occurrence of delinquency. This is theoretically a result supporting the effect of strain on delinquency and needs to be examined in various ways and perspectives.
